Using Bodytab
How to use Bodytab ... Your Private Health Resource Folder
Body Tab gives you an active role in managing your family health care and wellbeing.
Bodytab is about listening to your own body and recording that information in one place – on a PC computer or in a paper folder. If you would like to get updated information on medical conditions or about new tests as they become available, please register at www.Bodytab.ie. This procedure is totally private.
While Bodytab will help you to take more control of your health, do not use it instead of seeing your doctor.
Body Tab will help to give your doctor information on your family health history and fitness that they may not have previously had, which in turn could improve the care you receive.
We would advise you always to discuss Bodytab with your health-carer.
About Bodytab - personal medical records software
Bodytab home health software allows you, for the first time, to draw together and store your family medical and health care records at home in one thorough, confidential file.
This resource has four parts:
BodyFile
A thorough medical folder and files (PC-based and paper folder) for storing medical information and the health history of every member of the family.
You can, for example, use your medical file:
- when you visit the doctor
- see a consultant
- change doctors
- change address
- when travelling abroad
BodyTrack
A tool for recording information to learn about, test and monitor family members at home. With BodyTrack you can test and monitor asthma, test and monitor cholesterol, test and monitor diabetes, test and monitor blood pressure and test and monitor obesity.
You can read about the six home tests, decide whether to do them and add the results to your file. If you carry out home health testing and health screening at home - BodyTrack allows you to monitor and record the results
BodyDiet
You need to eat the right amounts and right balance of food to keep to a healthy weight and reduce your risk of health conditions including high blood pressure. Remember that no single item supplies all the nutrients you need for good health.
BodyFit
A regular exercise regime is very important for your health and wellbeing. A simple log can help you maintain a regime and also give your caregiver useful information about this important part of your health.
Why take health measurements at home?
Home monitoring devices are becoming increasingly popular among many patients and primary-care providers because they allow people to actively monitor their health at home and take part in their health care. They also provide more health information and measurements to make better decisions. Devices such as peak-flow meters, blood-glucose tests, blood-pressure kits, cholesterol tests and body-mass index calculations have made it easier for patients to accurately monitor and effectively treat long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes and hypertension.
The devices and kits are available to help with:
- first-time testing
- monitoring and managing asthma, body-mass index, high blood pressure, blood glucose and cholesterol.
They are convenient and confidential because you use them at home.
